Will you look up? See all that surrounds you? The old man on the bench staring out in to the abyss. He looks to the side and raises his arm. Emptyness. His face falls as he drops his arm. The child chases a ball and mother on her phone. He brings her a beautiful leaf and she dismisses him. His face falls. A young couple walk through the park. Both looking at their phones. She runs a finger across his arm and he recoils. He doesn't even look at her. Her face falls. A group of college students play football in a nearby field. The guy by the fence wants to join. No one offers and there he stands- watching. They begin to depart and the sun sets. His face falls. Will you look up? Sit by the old man and listen. Put the phone down and see your child? Embrace your loved one and be tender? Invite the lost to join in? You'll be alone. You will lose the light. So, look up! Love one another. Be mindful of those around you. Hear their words, feel their moves. The old man smiles as you sit down. Child squeals with the best leaf ever. Loved ones with wedding bells in their hearts. Teams that involve all walks of life. Be fulfilled by the light and love all around. Feel pure joy through your core. Please, oh please Look up Look around
