NO PROMISES TONIGHT [Intro – City Traffic / 8 Bars] [Car engine starting, motorcycles passing, horns, city ambience] [Filtered disco bass slowly entering] Engine running Clock says late Red light holding I can't wait Horn behind me Bike cuts through Everybody's moving What am I supposed to do? [Spoken] Seriously? Today? Of all nights? [Beat starts] I got somewhere to be My people wait for me I dressed to hit the floor I can't sit here anymore [Verse 1 – Disco Groove] Chrome in the street Lights in my eyes Motor to the left Another one flies Phone keeps ringing "Where are you?" I'm almost there What can I do? Work all day Bills all day Same old noise Same old way But when I reach that door I'm leaving all of it Right there on the floor [Pre-Chorus] Clock out Lights on Bad day Gone Turn the key Turn it loud I'm coming through To find my crowd [Chorus] NO PROMISES TONIGHT Leave tomorrow out of sight NO PROMISES TONIGHT We came to feel alright No work No stress No "what comes next?" Tonight belongs to us NO PROMISES TONIGHT We're gonna live it right [Post-Chorus] Hey! I made it! Hey! I'm here! Music up Friends around That's the only thing I hear [Verse 2 – Full Disco] There they are I see the crew Hands up high Calling me through One is laughing One's already dancing "Girl, what took you so long?" I point outside They know the deal Traffic tried But here I am still Long week on my shoulders Good friends by my side Whatever tried to break me Stayed outside tonight [Pre-Chorus] Clock out Lights on Bad day Gone Leave the heavy Leave the noise Tonight we came To make some noise [Chorus] NO PROMISES TONIGHT Leave tomorrow out of sight NO PROMISES TONIGHT We came to feel alright No work No stress No "what comes next?"
