[melodic instrumental intro] [Verse 1] I wore your name like glass Cut deep in my palm Red on the silver chain Shaking but still I hold on You said the shine was mine But it bit through the skin Now every shard I keep Is where the hurt begins [Pre-Chorus] I see it in the light That cold white fire A pretty wound With a black heart inside [Chorus] Blood diamond Cut me clean Blood diamond You know what I mean Blood diamond Still I shine Blood diamond You live in my mind [Verse 2] I found you in the mud Under a ruined sky Tried to wash you off But you marked me for life Mouth full of metal taste Hands full of broken oath You left a pretty scar And I kept both [Pre-Chorus] I see it in the light That cold white fire A pretty wound With a black heart inside [Chorus] Blood diamond Cut me clean Blood diamond You know what I mean Blood diamond Still I shine Blood diamond You live in my mind [Bridge] [Half-time] If I pull it out Will I lose my name? If I let it stay Will I burn the same? I hear you calling From the fracture line One more cut And I’ll call it mine [Breakdown] Blood! Diamond! Blood diamond! Cut me clean! [Final Chorus] Blood diamond Cut me clean Blood diamond You know what I mean Blood diamond Still I shine Blood diamond You live in my mind
