[Intro] [strummed acoustic guitar, melodic acoustic guitar lead] [Verse 1] [baritone male vocals] On Monday it seems Everything just goes wrong And I can't seem to get ahead I barely keep hanging on But every day's just the same old grade Monday's dance and song So, when the weekend comes I want to have some fun Till Monday comes along [Chorus] [bass guitar enters, kick drum and tambourine enter] After a whole week of Mondays I need a good Friday night To drink some beer, find that woman who cares And hold her through Saturday night Well, Sunday is my day of rest I do nothing and I just goof off When the alarm clock rings I know it means Another Monday's coming on [Verse 2] [acoustic guitar strumming continues] The boss man told me yesterday I see you working overtime I appreciate the effort But you're getting further behind I said I don't even know what day this is Man this job's just killing me He said it's Wednesday, I said no it ain't It's Monday number three [Chorus] After a whole week of Mondays I need a good Friday night To drink some beer, find that woman who cares And hold her through Saturday night Well Sunday is my day of rest I do nothing and I just goof off When the alarm clock rings I know it means Another Monday's coming on [Bridge] Monday number one Is the one I fear the most Through Monday number two Things really keep up the flow And on Monday number three last week I actually woke up at my desk While Monday number four's okay It's Monday five I like the best [Chorus] After a whole week of Mondays I need a good Friday night To drink some beer, find that woman who cares And hold her through Saturday night Well Sunday is my day of rest I do nothing and I just goof off When the alarm clock rings I know it means Another Monday's coming on When that alarm clock rings I know it brings Another Monday All week long [Outro] [acoustic guitar strumming fades] Is it Friday yet?
