Holy Spirit Returning Home

[Verse 1] If the sky splits open wide And fire walks the hills tonight If the earth shakes under my feet Lord, I need You here with me When the shadows start to climb And the wounds of the world unwind Hold my breath in the stormy air Teach my trembling soul to stand [Pre-Chorus] I know the hour is coming fast And the pain won't always last If Your Spirit draws away Let me still know how to pray [Chorus] Holy Spirit, stay with me Through the dust and falling trees Holy Spirit, stay with me Till Jesus comes in victory If You return to God above Hold me in Your mercy and love Holy Spirit, stay with me Holy Spirit, stay with me [Verse 2] When the sea turns dark and deep And the proud no longer sleep When the doors begin to close And the cold wind starts to blow If my hands are empty now If I don't know how somehow Let Your comfort be my light In the ruin of the night [Pre-Chorus] I know the hour is coming fast And the pain won't always last If Your Spirit draws away Let me still know how to pray [Chorus] Holy Spirit, stay with me Through the dust and falling trees Holy Spirit, stay with me Till Jesus comes in victory If You return to God above Hold me in Your mercy and love Holy Spirit, stay with me Holy Spirit, stay with me [Bridge] When the trumpet breaks the air And every nation stops and stares If this season has to end Be my shelter to the end And when You rise back home again To the heart of God and Heaven I will lift my trembling hands Still trusting in Your plan [Final Chorus] Holy Spirit, stay with me Through the dust and falling trees Holy Spirit, stay with me Till Jesus comes in victory If You return to God above Hold me in Your mercy and love Holy Spirit, stay with me Holy Spirit, stay with me
