The Sector Nine remains on course. The bridge is quiet. Nothing appears out of place. At first, the crew treats the experience as an unusually vivid daydream. Yet the details refuse to disappear. The names remain. The symbols remain. And the feeling that accompanied them lingers long after the memory itself begins to fade. Over the following days, Aurelya, Nareh, Vee'lox and Kortax compare Darek's fragmented recollections with old Ranesh archives stored aboard the Sector Nine. To their surprise, several of the words appear within records far older than any of them expected. A handful of references point toward scattered reports, lost expeditions and fragments of knowledge connected to a mysterious civilization known only as the Myx. The discoveries raise more questions than answers. No one can explain how Darek encountered information he should never have known. No one can determine whether the experience was merely a dream shaped by forgotten memories. Yet for the first time, the crew begins to suspect that the strange words were not random at all. What Darek experienced during those few moments on the bridge may have been more than a wandering mind. It may have been the first faint whisper of a people drifting far beyond the known borders of Orion. A people whose story the crew has not yet begun to understand. From that experience, the song Daydream is born. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [Intro] [sustained strings, atmospheric synth pads] [distorted guitar power chord swell] [Spoken Words] "Funny how it happens..." "You sit down for a minute..." "Watch the stars..." "Close your eyes..." "And suddenly you're somewhere else." [Verse 1] [palm-muted electric guitar eighth notes, steady kick drum] Engines rise beneath the night Steel and breath begin to fight Every step away from ground Cuts the last familiar sound [Verse 2] [full band enters, driving drums, staccato strings] Cities fade beneath the haze Smaller with each passing phase I was young, I carried more Than I ever named before [Pre-Chorus] [half-time feel] The sky unfolds beyond the glass While hours drift and slowly pass [Chorus] [tempo resumes] I fall into a daydream deep Past the weight of where I've been No road ahead, no map to read Just open space between [Bridge] [operatic choir vocalizations, orchestral strings, double-time drums] (Ah-ah-ah-ah) [Verse 3] Station lights and distant suns Places seen and places gone Faces blur but moments stay Long after they've slipped away [Verse 4] [full band, anthemic energy] There's a voice I almost know Not ahead and not below It doesn't lead, it doesn't warn It simply carries on [Pre-Chorus 2] No destination on the screen Just all the places I have been [Chorus] I fall into a daydream deep Where nothing asks me to pretend No oath to make, no role to play Just time I never spend [Instrumental Solo] [heavy guitar riffing, orchestral stabs] [Bridge 2] [Choir] Ka–re–thos… [Spoken Words] "Bearer of memory and endurance" [Choir] A–ru–na… [Spoken Words] "Rising light of awareness" [Choir] Ve–la–kai… [Spoken Words] "Beyond the known horizon" [Final Chorus] I fall into a daydream deep Through years and worlds I've wandered through No chains, no myths, no guarantees Just what I know is true [Outro] If this was only in my mind Then why does it feel so real? Some dreams remain long after sleep Like marks that never heal [Choir] Ka–re–thos… A–ru–na… Ve–la–kai… [final orchestral hit, sustained synth fade] [End]
