A Murder of Crows § JUDGEMENT

V5.5

🐦‍⬛A MURDER IF CROWS 🐦‍⬛ A murder of crows strung high above in a row, Conspire-all nine looking at the town square below. A murder of crows-laughing uncontrolled, A single one watching-"what does that shrieking murder know..." A ghastly wind, ruffled their crests, Nine shrouded heads leaned over a wire... Talons curled tight-round rusted lines, Watching the townsfolk gather round a pyre... In a hidden hamlet-coveted by the trees, Lived a mining village-where calamity had spread like disease. They say greed had made one man blast off side of a salt mine, His gluttonous pride-created that devastating rock slide, Oh how boulders-miles high, tumbled all the way down, Pulverizing nine children-playing on the school grounds... "Bad seed-spoiled by greed", "Never had kids-always loathed them", "Demon spawn"-"Hellbound pawn", "Let's get together to do what must be done..." HANG HIM HIGH-HIGH ON A WIRE! LET THE CROWS RIP OUT HIS GUTS! LET HIS BODY ROT! - LET HIM BLEED! WE SHALL STRIKE DOWN THIS EVIL SEED! LET OUR CHILDREN-SWING AT HIS FEET! LET OUR WHOLE TOWN WATCH HIM EXPIRE! HANG HIM HIGH-HIGH ON A WIRE! Let us all rejoice-while he expires! And still... A murder of crows, pensive on a wire, A tenth crow, a ghost-watching evil spiral. A creak of old wood-a shaking heel lifts above the other, The meek shaking priest-had his noose fitted tighter, And the crowd below?-screams, slurs, and bellows, Everyone knew where he would go, After that branch-cracking echo. He forgave them all, as rocks slammed his face, With his bloody goodbye Father dropped in place... A man of god-reduced to twirling shoelace... HANG HIM HIGH-HIGH ON A WIRE! LET THE CROWS RIP OUT HIS GUTS! LET HIS BODY ROT AND BLEED! WE SHALL STRIKE DOWN THIS EVIL SEED! LET OUR CHILDREN-SWING AT HIS FEET! LET OUR WHOLE TOWN WATCH HIM EXPIRE! HANG HIM HIGH-HIGH ON A WIRE! A murder of crows rejoices-while the priest expires! And still... A murder of crows sat high above the pyre, Nine black silhouettes-swaying on a wire. But the tenth crow-silent, ghostly eyed, Had watched the mountain shift that night... Talons scraped shale-a boulder leaned, One sudden flutter-split the seam. A cracking roar-the cliff face groaned, Nine departing crows, And nine young souls were crushed below... And still... The murder laughs-high on the wire...
