[Verse 1] Hunter woke with a start, reaching for the man she knew wasn't there. This was the third time this week she had that nightmare, Each time a little different, each time more despair. This wasn't the first time Robert appeared in her dream, But this was the worst one, like a haunting, it seemed. [Chorus] The dreams just keep on coming, they never seem to cease, A haunting loop in her mind, a puzzle with no peace. A frantic set of pictures, Like a movie without sound, Slow motion disaster, yet he turned it all around. [Verse 2] This time he threw her like a ragdoll, faced that ship alone. When she reached for him, he was gone... just gone. She knew that wasn't how it happened, yet close to the truth's tone. Dragging her back on the rescue sled, things went astray. Barely conscious, she was lost in disarray. [Chorus] The dreams just keep on coming, they never seem to cease, A haunting loop in her mind, a puzzle with no peace. A rescue going sideways, like a movie without sound, unexpected motion, carried across rough ground. [Verse 3] Shouts, cursing, engines thundered, pirates closing in. He broke into a run, pulling her behind, against the wind. Running on adrenaline, stronger than he could ever be, Rocketing her into the ship, turning to face the enemy. A ball of flame, debris, part of him in the fray. His body twisted, she passed out, memories in dismay. [Verse 4] The rest a blur, only recordings tell the tale. Cameras captured it all, truths hidden, veil upon veil. [Chorus] The dreams just keep on coming, they never seem to cease, A haunting loop in her mind, a puzzle with no peace. They thought he was gone, until he made a sound, Expecting his end, yet he turned it all around.
