CLOSER, CLOSER Verse 1 I see you across the busy room Through the lights, through the smoke and perfume Our eyes connect and my heart skips a beat Like somehow you’ve been waiting there for me I want you, don’t know why Don’t even know your name tonight A stranger, but it feels so right Like you can read what’s on my mind Chorus Across the room we slowly move Keeping cool, but we both know the truth One step at a time, no need to rush Every little move is pulling us Chorus Closer, closer You and I, closer, closer Step by step, we’re moving into one another Closer, closer Nothing else around us matters No words needed, we already know Closer, closer Don’t let go Verse 2 One step at a time, we play it slow Never showing just how far we want to go Keeping a cool face, hiding the fire But every step is feeding the desire Now you’re near enough for me to see Those beautiful eyes looking back at me Shining green like emeralds in the sun And suddenly the whole room disappears to one Chorus Closer now, the distance fades We’re walking down the same unknown way No words spoken, nothing to explain Like we’ve been waiting for this moment all our days Chorus Closer, closer You and I, closer, closer Step by step, we’re moving into one another Closer, closer Nothing else around us matters No words needed, we already know Closer, closer Don’t let go Chorus Closer, closer Closer to me Closer, closer Where we’re meant to be Bridge Now my hand brushes softly against yours And neither one of us turns away anymore No words have been said But everything is clear The whole world disappears When you are here One more step and you’re in my arms Your hands on my shoulders, pulling me on I lean in slowly, kiss your neck And our lifelong dance begins with every breath Breakdown Closer, closer Till there’s nowhere left to go Closer, closer Till your heartbeat is the only sound I know This is the love I never knew I missed You are the one I never knew I wished for We were strangers only moments ago Now I never want to let you go Chorus Closer, closer You and I, closer, closer Step by step until there’s nothing in between us Closer, closer Every touch is pulling deeper No words needed, our bodies know Closer, closer Don’t let go Closer, closer Till the night becomes forever Closer, closer You and I together As close as two hearts ever get Before they beat as one Closer, closer Until we are one Outro Closer… closer… It is you I didn’t know I missed Closer… closer… This is the love I didn’t know existed Closer… closer… You and I Closer, closer Tonight
