[Verse] There’s a cackle in the forest It’s bouncing through the trees A giggle on the river Carried by the breeze He’s dancing on the mushrooms Shoes without a sole A laughing elf A jester with a heart that’s whole [Chorus] Oh the laughing elf He’s a riddle He’s a rhyme Skipping through the ages Lost in merry time With a chuckle and a snort He’ll steal your weary frown The laughing elf will lift you up He’ll never let you down [Verse 2] His hat is patched with stories His pockets full of cheer He whispers jokes to crickets The punchlines disappear His laugh is like a lantern It lights the darkest night A laughing elf A firework A spark that’s burning bright [Prechorus] He knows no sorrow He fears no fall His joy’s a kingdom His laugh the call [Chorus] Oh the laughing elf He’s a riddle He’s a rhyme Skipping through the ages Lost in merry time With a chuckle and a snort He’ll steal your weary frown The laughing elf will lift you up He’ll never let you down [Bridge] They say he’s made of stardust A trickster in disguise A mirror of your laughter Reflected in his eyes His chuckle shakes the mountains His snicker stirs the sea The laughing elf A melody A wild and fleeting spree
