In the quiet town of Bethlehem, beneath

V4.5-ALL

In the quiet town of Bethlehem, beneath the desert moon, A miracle was ripening — though frankly, far too soon, For lying in a manger was no child, lamb, or llama… But glowing with divine delight, The Holy Yellow Banana! Oh, sing hosanna for the banana! The fruit of prophecy, It slipped into our mortal world To set all peelings free, So bless the bruises, praise the mush, And bow if you’re a fan-a — For Christmas came to Bethlehem Inside a blessed banana! The shepherds stared in disbelief, the wise men dropped their tea, One said, “I thought the saviour would be slightly more… human-y?” But angels waved their clipboards, said, “It’s all correct, you see — The Lord works in mysterious ways, And also in potassium, apparently.” Oh sing hosanna for the banana! The holy fruit divine, It glows with righteous fibre And a hint of zest and shine, So light your candles, ring your bells, And play the pan-a-pan-a — For Christmas joy is brilliant bright In Bethlehem’s banana! And when it rose to heaven (At room temp, around midday), It left a peel of golden light That never fades away, And somewhere in the cosmos It floats in sacred bliss — A cosmic fruity saviour Blowing humans holy kiss. Oh sing hosanna for the banana! The chosen fruit so fair, Forget your frankincense and gold — Bring smoothies, if you dare, So every year at Christmas time We celebrate the plan-a: Peace on Earth, goodwill to all… And praise the holy banana!
