Steve Tranter’s Little Spies (Version) by GM Jon

V5.5

Quantum’s got me on a string Inhabits every tiny little thing Small is big and less is more What happened to my private door robot ants are flying in the wind Those mites are all around, but they don’t itch Gathering all our data, to enrich Like an insect infiltration Collecting information As they listen and compute, before they snitch Microwaves and fridges that have ears Mobile news that preys upon our fears I hear my toaster might be telling tales Laying little information trails To create a data file that never clears Now, I’m under no illusions That they check on my ablutions Do they listen to my snoring They must know I’m rather boring Yet, they’re sending all my data far away Should we cover up our toasters? And take down all our posters? To keep those probing robots at bay It was innocent gnats and flies That we used to demonise But we cannot waft away the bots that trawl We used to be protecting The data they’re collecting Now, there’s no escaping robot ants that crawl Microwaves and fridges that have ears Mobile news that preys upon our fears I believe my toaster might be telling tales Laying little information trails To create a data file that never clears
