Lover's Quarrel

In troubled times of tensions high Come tests of faith and faithless lies To trick thy mind and deceive thy heart With good aware from the very start Words so tame benign anew As innocent change begins to chew At your mind, your temper too And only a fool would see it through But patience thin reminds pray tell Leave thy heart at the water well Where worries fade from every view And loves refrain be just for you But Alas, she brings the dagger out First one then more until she shouts “Get out my love, there is no more” So once again, you’re out the door!
