[Intro | drums + bass | spoken/shouted] Midnight! Lights down! Everybody on the floor— There’s something knocking at the door! [Verse 1 | funky, playful] Jack-o’-lantern grinning underneath the full moon, Black cat strutting while the old floor shakes, A vampire slides in dressed like a cartoon, Then a skeleton rattles every move that he makes. [Pre-Chorus | building] Footsteps coming closer through the fog tonight, That creaking door swings open—everybody move! A witch on a broomstick cuts across the light, And the whole haunted house drops into the groove! [Chorus | HUGE PARTY HOOK] Do the MIDNIGHT MONSTER SHUFFLE! Step left! Step right! Let me see that trouble! MIDNIGHT MONSTER SHUFFLE! Hands up! Get down! Make the whole room rumble! Ghosts in the back yell—HEY! HEY! HEY! Werewolf howls while we dance away! MIDNIGHT MONSTER SHUFFLE! Everybody move when the monsters say— MOVE! MOVE! MOVE! [Verse 2 | groove harder] Zombie by the cauldron got a brand-new style, Spiderweb shaking from the bass down low, Monster in a costume dancing down the aisle, Candy flying everywhere—now watch that pumpkin glow! [Pre-Chorus | rising] There’s a scarecrow jumping by the old graveyard, A bat doing circles while the crowd goes wild, Tombstone drummer laying down the beat real hard, Even that old ghost finally cracked a smile! [Chorus | full band] Do the MIDNIGHT MONSTER SHUFFLE! Step left! Step right! Let me see that trouble! MIDNIGHT MONSTER SHUFFLE! Hands up! Get down! Make the whole room rumble! Ghosts in the back yell—HEY! HEY! HEY! Werewolf howls while we dance away! MIDNIGHT MONSTER SHUFFLE! Everybody move when the monsters say— MOVE! MOVE! MOVE! [Dance Break | drums + bass + guitar] Witch—SWING! Zombie—SLIDE! Skeleton—SHAKE! Everybody SIDE TO SIDE! Vampire—TURN! Werewolf—STOMP! Black cat—STRUT! NOW MAKE THAT WHOLE ROOM JUMP! [Bridge | half-time funk] Midnight rolling through the pumpkin patch, Cobwebs hanging from the old front gate, A coffin pops open—somebody yell “ATCH!” The dead man grins— “Man, the party started late!” [Final Chorus | biggest] Do the MIDNIGHT MONSTER SHUFFLE! Step left! Step right! Let me see that trouble! MIDNIGHT MONSTER SHUFFLE! Hands up! Get down! Make the whole room rumble! Ghosts in the back yell—HEY! HEY! HEY! Werewolf howls while we dance away!
