[Verse 1] Salt on the rail Wind in our teeth Look to the west There’s prey out at sea White sail on blue Small as a lie Captain says low “Boys, that’s our prize” [Pre-Chorus] Hoist up the black Cut through the foam Hands on the rope We’re heading them home [Chorus] Black flag rising! (Black flag rising!) Merchant ship fleeing! (Merchant ship fleeing!) Sails cut the wind And the whole crew sings Black flag rising! (Black flag rising!) [Verse 2] Cannons are primed Powder is dry Eager-eyed deckhands Spitting for the fight Fiddle goes wild Boots hit the board Every hard heart Wants a little more [Pre-Chorus] Hoist up the black Hear the boards groan Close on their wake We’re making them known [Chorus] Black flag rising! (Black flag rising!) Merchant ship fleeing! (Merchant ship fleeing!) Sails cut the wind And the whole crew sings Black flag rising! (Black flag rising!) [Bridge] Turn with the swell Bellow the name No one can sleep When fortune’s in flame Raise up the roar Clap to the strike Tonight we go hard And we sail for the prize [Final Chorus] Black flag rising! (Black flag rising!) Merchant ship fleeing! (Merchant ship fleeing!) Rattle the chain Let the brave hearts ring Black flag rising! (Black flag rising!)
