# **A DELIGHTSOME PEOPLE** ### *Walking the Covenant Every Day* --- ## **[NARRATION]** *(Soft piano, Native flute, gentle strings.)* Every civilization... is remembered for something. Some are remembered for their armies. Others for their wealth... their cities... or their kings. But as Hahgmehni continued preserving the history of his people... he focused on something entirely different. He wanted future generations to remember **who they became**. After years of trials, blessings, victories, and hardships... the people desired to remain faithful to the covenant they had made with the Peacemaker. They remembered Him in their daily lives. They taught His words to their children. They cared for their families and neighbors. When contention appeared... they sought peace. When they wandered... they turned back. Hahgmehni wasn't writing only a history book. He was preserving a pattern. A pattern that future generations—including us—could follow. What impressed him most wasn't that his people were perfect. It was that they kept returning to the Lord. Again... and again. As I read these verses, I noticed something else. The Record spends very little time celebrating great accomplishments. Instead, it celebrates faithful living. One prayer. One act of kindness. One forgiven offense. One family teaching their children. One decision to trust the Peacemaker instead of following the crowd. Those ordinary moments... became the story of an extraordinary people. Jesus taught much the same thing. He invited His disciples to follow Him... not just during sacred moments... but every day. That's how covenant people are formed. Not in a single miracle... but through thousands of faithful choices. Looking back over my own life, I can see the same pattern. The Lord didn't change me in one dramatic experience. He changed me... little by little. A scripture that answered a question. A quiet impression that gave direction. A small act of obedience that opened another door. Over time... those small moments became a different life. Perhaps that's exactly why Hahgmehni preserved this part of his record. He wanted future generations to know that a delightsome people aren't people who never fail. They are people who keep turning back to the Peacemaker. And He never stops walking beside them. So this week... don't look only for the big miracles. Notice the small choices. Because those small choices... are quietly writing... your own sacred record. --- ## **[SHORT SONG]** **Step by step... day by day...** Christ will lead us on the Way. Faithful hearts will always see... He walks beside you... and me. Together we will journey home... Never walking all alone. Peacemaker... lead us on... Until the morning comes.
