V4.5

[1. The Poet’s Heart Overflowing] My heart is stirred with noble fire, A song for kings, my lips inspire. My tongue, the pen of ready grace, To praise the fairest of his race. [2. The Glorious King] O mighty one, in splendor rise, With truth and justice in your eyes. Your arrows sharp, your arm made strong, Your glory strikes the trembling throng. Your throne, O God, forever stands, A scepter rules with righteous hands. You love the right, you hate the wrong— Thus God has blessed you all life long. [3. The King’s Majesty] With myrrh and gold, in robes arrayed, From ivory halls your joy displayed. The daughters of the great attend, The queen in gold of Ophir bends. [4. The Royal Bride] Now listen, daughter, lend your ear, Forget your past, your homeland dear. The king is captivated now, So bow before his sacred vow. With Tyre’s wealth, with gifts untold, The nobles seek your hand of gold. In robes of pearl and broidered grace, You stand in joy before his face. [5. A Future Crowned in Joy] With gladness led, with love adorned, The palace halls with praise are warmed. Your sons shall rise where kings have trod— Your name renowned, beloved of God!
