[Verse 1] Dust on my boots, snow on the ridge I crossed the long miles to the old stone bridge The pines lean close like they know my name And the morning breaks gold over Shasta again [Pre-Chorus] I left with a pocket of questions Came back with a sky full of signs The road may be rough as a comet But this mountain still answers mine [Chorus] Welcome back to Shasta, master blasta Raise your hands to the blue-white crown Welcome back to Shasta, moving faster Where the high wind turns the whole world round I’m home where the tall trees gather Home where the cold springs run Welcome back to Shasta The returning has begun [Verse 2] A tin cup rings by the cabin door Boot heels wake the familiar floor Someone laughs by the fire, someone calls from the trail And the summit keeps watch through the silvering veil [Pre-Chorus] I brought back stories and weather A compass bent from the miles But the first deep breath in this valley Put the map back under my smile [Chorus] Welcome back to Shasta, master blasta Raise your hands to the blue-white crown Welcome back to Shasta, moving faster Where the high wind turns the whole world round I’m home where the tall trees gather Home where the cold springs run Welcome back to Shasta The returning has begun [Bridge] No throne, no flag, no grand parade Just a trail through the firs I made If tomorrow calls from beyond the sun I’ll answer after this song is done [Final Chorus] Welcome back to Shasta, master blasta Let the bright day shake the ground Welcome back to Shasta, master blasta Hear that mountain’s welcome sound I’m home where the tall trees gather Home where the cold springs run Welcome back to Shasta The returning has begun [Outro] Back to Shasta Back to the snow Back to the place My footsteps know
