Verse 1 Night on the hills, we kept the watch, Quiet fire and breathing sheep; Then glory broke the dark like dawn, And fear ran through us deep. A voice said, “Do not be afraid— Great joy for all has come. In David’s town, the Lord is born— Messiah, promised One.” Chorus Fear not—go to Bethlehem; Follow what the angels said. Find the Child and bow the heart; Worship at His manger bed. Glory in the highest sing— Peace on earth and grace within. Fear not—go to Bethlehem; Let the Savior’s light begin. Verse 2 A manger is the given sign, Swaddled cloth for Heaven’s King; The skies were filled with holy host— We heard the heavens sing. We ran with haste through sleeping streets, And there, by candle’s glow, We knelt in awe and offered faith— The only gift we owned. Bridge Now send us, Lord, to make it known, Good tidings far and near; We’ll carry peace from heart to heart, And trade our fear for cheer. In Jesus Christ—our Shepherd-King— We find redeeming love; The lowly lifted, nations blessed, With hope from God above. Chorus Fear not—go to Bethlehem; Follow what the angels said. Find the Child and bow the heart; Worship at His manger bed. Glory in the highest sing— Peace on earth and grace within. Fear not—go to Bethlehem; Let the Savior’s light begin.
