(Intro) Come on now — can I get a witness? (band hits — brass fanfare) (Verse 1) When your day feels heavy, And your nights get long, Don’t you sit there worryin’, Just come and sing my song. We got love to keep us rollin’, We got faith to see it through, So raise it up, children — Let your love shine through! (Chorus) Raise it up! (Yeah!) Let your love shine through! Raise it up! (One more time!) That’s all you gotta do! When the world gets cold, and the sky ain’t blue, Raise it up, honey — let your love shine through! (Verse 2) Don’t need no preacher tellin’ me how to pray, Got my rhythm and soul — that’s my way! When that spirit hits, I just shout “Amen!” ‘Cause the blues I had won’t come again! (Chorus) Raise it up! (Yeah!) Let your love shine through! Raise it up! (C’mon!) That’s all you gotta do! You can cry, you can laugh, but don’t you hide that truth, Raise it up, honey — let your love shine through! (Bridge — preacher-style breakdown) Now love ain’t no color, And love ain’t no plan, It’s the good Lord’s music Flowin’ through man to man! So when that rhythm moves you, And your body feels brand new, Don’t fight that feeling — Let your love shine through! (Final Chorus) Raise it up! (Yeah!) Let your love shine through! Raise it up! (Everybody!) That’s all you gotta do! If your heart’s beatin’ strong, then the Lord loves you, Raise it up, baby — let your love shine through! (Tag) I said raise it up — raise it high — Let your love shine through, till the day I die!
