“A Little Stitious” is a reference to The Office, a Michael Scott quote that I always thought was great, funny. I’m a big fan of twinkly Midwest emo guitars and soft horns, so having some of that as a foundation for glitchy sound collage-y sort of sounds was the idea here. Then it came out way more anthemic and poppy than I expected and I dug it. One thing I'll point out is a theme of a lot of my lyrics I think is finding like a really poignant line or two kind of hidden in more innocuous sounding stuff. Like it's rattling through all these little quirks of this person, and then the line “I like the monsters in my head but you left them” kind of hits and makes you think is there something deeper going on here with the superstitions and the quirks this dude has? And suddenly it can be about a little trauma and accepting your imperfections and stuff like that. So, that's that one.
