7. When the Lights Go Down

Verse 1 Neon buzzing on a Friday night, Laughter rolling in the barroom light. I caught your glance through the smoke and sound, Some things are better when the night comes ‘round. Chorus When the lights go down, the truth comes out, Every shadow knows what love’s about. The night won’t wait, it’s here right now, When the lights go down. Verse 2 Jukebox spinning out a worn refrain, Two hearts moving through the pouring rain. Time keeps running but the moment stays, Burning bright in a stranger’s gaze. Chorus When the lights go down, the truth comes out, Every shadow knows what love’s about. The night won’t wait, it’s here right now, When the lights go down. Bridge Every song has a place to start, Every fire has a beating heart. The night won’t last, but the feeling’s found, When the lights go down. Final Chorus (stacked harmonies, soaring guitar fills) When the lights go down, the truth comes out, Every shadow knows what love’s about. The night won’t wait, it’s here right now, When the lights go down. Repeat Final Chorus When the lights go down, the truth comes out, Every shadow knows what love’s about. The night won’t wait, it’s here right now, When the lights go down. Outro (gentle fade, guitars + harmonies) When the lights go down… When the lights go down…
