Thanksgiving is a time For family and food A table full of blessings And an attitude Of gratitude Football on the screen We cheer and we shout Our favorite teams Might win or strike out But one team wins—no doubt So be grateful for the mystery The grace that sets us free Our Lord has won the victory For all eternity No more chains, no heavy load He fulfilled the written code By the Cross, a new Way showed Now we walk the road Not by strength or pride But by love we’re led Hearts once torn apart Now united instead By the blood He shed So be grateful for the mystery The grace that sets us free Our Lord has won the victory For all eternity No more chains, no heavy load He fulfilled the written code By the Cross, a new Way showed Now we walk the road Accept the gift, the open door Live the life you’re made for Doing the amazing thing— Together we will sing Yes, we’re grateful for the mystery The grace that sets us free Our Lord has won the victory For all eternity No more chains, no heavy load He fulfilled the written code By the Cross, a new Way showed Now we walk the road
