πΆ Song 155 β The Religion of the Spirit
Paper 155 β Fleeing Through Northern Galilee πΆ Song: The Religion of the Spirit (Introduction) Along the roads of Galilee, The Master taught what faith could be. Not fear, nor creed, nor ancient lore, But knowing God forevermore. (Verse 1 β Why Do the Heathen Rage?) "Why do the nations strive and fight? Why do they turn away from light?" The kingdom comes through love alone, Not by a sword or earthly throne. The Father's mercy reaches far, Beyond each race and nation's bar. The truth is living, bright and free, A call to all humanity. (Verse 2 β The Evangelists in Chorazin) Few would listen, few would hear, The harvest seemed so small and drear. Yet through the struggle faith would grow, And deeper roots began to show. No labor done in love is lost, Though victories seem dearly cost. The Father sees the heart remain, Through every trial and every pain. (Verse 3 β At Caesarea-Philippi) The kingdom is not bread and wine, But joy that comes from love divine. The Father's child begins to see, A greater spiritual destiny. Truth frozen into rigid creeds, Can never meet the spirit's needs. Living truth must always grow, Like flowing streams that onward go. (Verse 4 β Three Kinds of Religion) Some fear the thunder in the sky, And worship powers passing by. Some trust traditions handed down, And wear religion like a crown. But higher still the spirit calls, Beyond the temple's ancient walls. To find the Father face to face, And live within His loving grace. (Verse 5 β The Discourse on True Religion) Religion born of soul and heart, Invites each seeker to take part. Not merely doctrines to defend, But living faith that has no end. With courage strong and spirit free, The soul begins eternity. Through trust and love the child can find, The God who dwells within the mind. (Verse 6 β The Great Adventure) Not simply hearing others tell, Nor resting where traditions dwell. The greatest quest that mortals know, Is finding God within the soul. Through doubt and struggle, faith takes flight, Emerging stronger in the light. The Father's presence, softly known, Transforms the heart into His own. (Verse 7 β The Second Discourse) The spirit leads forever on, While stagnant creeds become withdrawn. The Father's voice still speaks today, To guide His children on the way. No age possesses truth alone, No generation stands the throne. The living word still shines anew, For every heart that's pure and true. (Verse 8 β One Human Family) Though minds may differ race by race, One spirit dwells in every place. The Father's love unites them all, Responding to His gentle call. Not sameness in what men believe, But common hope that all receive. One destiny for every soul, The Father's family made whole. (Bridge β Finding God) Find God within, Find God above, Find God through truth, Find God through love. Not merely speaking of His name, But living in His holy flame. The spirit whispers, soft and near: "My child, your Father still is here." (Chorus) The religion of the spirit, Living faith that makes us free. Not by fear and not by custom, But through God's reality. Seeking, finding, growing higher, Walking where His light has trod. Greatest journey of creation: Finding and becoming one with God. (Finale) Toward Phoenicia they walked on, The setting of another dawn. Behind them stood the creeds of men, Before them truth alive again. The Father's kingdom would not cease, A reign of love and inner peace. And every soul that seeks His face, Shall live forever in His grace. πΆπ
