[Scene opens with the crackle of fire. Waves roll in. Peter approaches cautiously.] JESUS (voice low, sharp) Three times you swore you didn’t know me. Now you standing here like you owe me? Let’s talk, fisherman—look in my eyes. Do you love me, or was that a lie? PETER (urgent, raw) I failed, I know, I folded in fear, But I never stopped loving—I need you here. You called me rock, but I crumbled fast, Still I’d die for you—just say the ask. JESUS Then feed my sheep, don’t just speak. My kingdom’s built on hearts, not weak. So I’ll ask again, since truth’s what frees: Do you love me? Speak with ease. PETER Yes, I love you—don’t twist the knife. I gave you my boat, my nets, my life. But I’m not the same man from yesterday, I broke—but I’m here, I came anyway. JESUS Then lead with love, and carry the weight. The cross is heavy, the world will hate. But one last time—don’t let it slide: Do you love me, or just your pride? PETER (tearful, but strong) You know my soul, you see what’s real. I can’t hide from the scars you heal. Yes—I love you. No more disguise. If I fall again, I’ll still rise. [Beat slows. Jesus steps forward, places hand on Peter’s shoulder.] JESUS Then walk this road, no turning back. You’ve been forgiven—now lead the pack.
