I walked the journey, Near and far Yet still my heart, Held onto scar Upon the Rocky shores, near sea I waited there, with empty plea At Waters Edge, with ocean foam, I waited for the reaper's roam The one I sought, I could not find Yes still I waited, still i pined With bone and trinket, held in my hand I waited for days upon the sand Yet still unfound, the one with boat, I could not see his darkened cloak I lost the hope, I wanted to see The one who could take that end of me As night time fell the fifth that week My hope renewed, as beauty to seek I watched and waited, for the shiny gill Of the maiden's Beauty, and sylver frill The haunting Echo, i heard along Still passed by me as if I didn't belong I scratched my head and started to cry I still called out with want to die Her poise & grace, swam proudly up And on my face, her hand did cup Her eyes met mine, she looked so sad She told me that I wasn't bad She only took the ones who harmed She was their doom, she used her charm She whispered softly in my ear That I should travel, both far and near I nodded softly, I wished her well I handed her a golden key, and from her eyes tears fell She swam away, yet i never saw Her fins were gone, her legs were Raw She lived on land, from that day on From her, compassion brightly shone I went both near, and travelled far I used my legs, i travelled by car On on the edge of seniors day I took a breath, but could no longer stay I closed by eyes, and there appeared A shining man, a boat he steered He told me to hop aboard And as i did, the waters roared He took me to a foreign place And told me how i had true grace That when i felt alone and sad, I was able to bless and make one feel glad He couldnt take me from the earth Until it was time for rest upon my hearth Too soon, they come, to meet the end Yet journey has, no need for rend They have a purpose, and plan in place Before they meet with shining face
