[Verse 1] On the cold stone ridge Gold rang in the mud Elves came in green light Dwarves stood red with blood Banners bit the wind When the moon broke thin I saw five fierce roads All run to one hill [Pre-Chorus] Hear the iron prayer Hear the old spite sing Boots on broken snow Ash on everything [Chorus] Five armies rise Five armies roar Five armies call For the mountain’s core Five armies rise Five armies cry And the hill holds fast Under leaden sky [Verse 2] Axes met the spears Swords found their bite Black wings on the frost Turned the day to night Kings fell, kin held on Hands blood-wet, locked tight By a split red dawn The plain was all fight [Pre-Chorus] Hear the iron prayer Hear the old spite sing Horn and hammer clash Till the stones all ring [Chorus] Five armies rise Five armies roar Five armies call For the mountain’s core Five armies rise Five armies cry And the hill holds fast Under leaden sky [Bridge] Then one small light Flared in the ruin Greed went pale as ash And wrath loosened its grip A weary hand Closed on the burden And the world drew breath From a war-torn lip [Final Chorus] Five armies rise Five armies roar Five armies call For the mountain’s core Five armies rise Five armies cry But the dawn stays hard And the dead won’t lie
