V4.5-ALL

The gardens fell beneath the rain The flowers bent against the storm I watched the seasons fade away And called your name no more The streets are cold The sky is grey The echoes linger on I carry all these broken years Like shadows carved in stone And if the world should end tonight If all the stars should lose their light I will remember The warmth within your hand The laughter in the dark The fragile things we tried to save Before they fell apart No angels sang No heavens opened wide Only the wind across the fields And petals drifting by A requiem For all we could not keep A requiem For promises asleep Yet somewhere beyond the dying day A single flower still remains And in its silent bloom I find my true belief
