The Living Hope

[Intro] (Soft piano intro, slow and emotional) (Cello swell) [Verse 1] Upon the tree He bore our sin So a new life could begin He bowed His head, the price was paid "It is finished," the Savior said While we were lost, He took the fall To show His love to one and all [Chorus] For first of all, the truth was told He died to break the chain The grave was deep, the stone was cold But He rose to life again! Oh, the darkness could not stay He rose upon the third day! [Verse 2] In linen shroud, they laid Him down The King who wore the thorny crown Inside the rock, the silence grew A borrowed tomb, strictly new With the rich He made His grave The One who came the world to save [Chorus] For first of all, the truth was told He died to break the chain The grave was deep, the stone was cold But He rose to life again! Oh, the darkness could not stay He rose upon the third day! [Bridge] (Building up, strong vocals) Death no longer holds the King Let the hallelujahs ring! Dominion lost, the shadows flee A living hope for you and me Come and see the empty space Look upon His glorious face! [Guitar Solo] (Melodic, uplifting, soaring) [Chorus] For first of all, the truth was told He died to break the chain The grave was deep, the stone was cold But He rose to life again! Oh, the darkness could not stay He rose upon the third day! [Outro] (Music slows down, intimate) He is the Resurrection and the Life Ending every fear and strife He is not here... He is not here... For He is risen. (Fade out)
