Prime time

V6-WILD

Foreword Evening is everybody's hour, and I walk at the other ones whenever I can. This grew from a suspicion about that habit: that a life arranged around avoiding the crowd might still be arranged around the crowd. So there are two rulebooks here, one for the empty hours and one for the town's, written in the same meter on purpose. Whether a private rulebook counts as freedom, or whether freedom is only the hour with no rules at all, is the question Lyrics [Verse 1] Never six and never eight carry nothing don't be late wear no light and walk it right other loop and other night greet no dog and greet no man keep it silent that's the plan never nod and still be fine wrong foot first across the line one small story at eleven nothing foreign nothing heaven [Hook] Off peak. Off peak. [Transition] Work ran late and here I stand six o'clock in no man's land [Verse 2] Out at six and home by eight bag it knot it don't be late wear your light and walk it right same old loop and same old night greet the dog and not the man keep it short and that's the plan nod and smile and say you're fine hold the pace and toe the line same old story till eleven nothing foreign nothing heaven [Hook] Prime time. Prime time. [Build] Never six out at six never eight home by eight carry nothing bag it knot it don't be late wear no light wear your light walk it right keep it silent keep it short that's the plan still be fine say you're fine toe the line one small story same old story nothing foreign nothing heaven Same time. Same time. [Bridge] Familiar hell feels safer than a foreign heaven. Familiar hell feels safer than a foreign heaven. [Outro] Stand and do not walk at all hear the nothing feel it fall hands are empty eyes are wide no one left to walk beside foreign heaven cold and rough take a piece and that's enough
