TRACK 3 — MALICE ON LOW VOLUME x TRACK 7 — SHE WAS WATCHING (Mashup)
[singer A] Before anybody gets fucking excited... No. I have not gone soft. I’m just quiet. There’s a difference. [Beat Rolls In] Normally I’m somewhere behind Scott’s eyes, Waiting for a reason to ruin someone’s night, One stupid comment, One smug little grin, And he knows exactly who he’s letting in. Me. Malice. Not subtle. Not nice. Usually the answer when patience dies. But tonight the BMW’s rolling smooth, Bass underneath me and I’m liking the groove, Blue paint catching every lamp we pass, Diesel humming and the road moving fast. And nobody’s pissed me off. Yet. That bit’s important. [transition] [singer B] You finally noticed me. Cute. I’ve been here the whole fucking time. Watching. Before VEX saw the cracks, Before Malice smelled blood, Before Scott admitted he was stuck in the mud, I knew. I felt every little shift. Every fake “I’m fine.” Every night without sleep. Every smile getting thinner while the pressure ran deep. And I stayed quiet. Not because I didn’t care. I wanted to see if those two could fucking handle it. [transition] [singer A] I’m on low volume tonight, Still here, Still ready, But everything’s alright. No fists with the dashboard, No war in my head, Just bass in the boot and the road up ahead. Low volume tonight, Don’t mistake that for gone, I’ve just learned every battle doesn’t need carrying on. You don’t have to shout to know where you stand, Don’t have to break shit to still be the man, Sometimes you let idiots talk themselves dry, Then smile, change gear, and fucking drive by. [transition] [singer B] I WAS WATCHING. EVERY FALL. EVERY CRACK. EVERY TIME HE SAID, “I’M GOOD,” WHILE HIS HEAD PULLED HIM BACK. I WAS WATCHING FROM THE DARK THEY NEVER SEE. VEX CAN HOLD THE LINE. MALICE CAN CARRY THE HEAT. BUT WHEN BOTH OF THEM ARE TIRED… YOU GET ME. Don’t confuse silence with absence. I don’t disappear. I simply don’t waste movement until the purpose becomes clear. Scott doesn’t need another voice screaming inside his skull. He doesn’t need chaos. He’s already fucking full. [transition] [singer A] I know what I’m for. I come out when Scott’s had enough, When protecting what matters gets fucking rough, When he needs that backbone he sometimes forgets, I’m the voice going, “Nah. We’re not taking that shit.” But protecting him means more than attack, Sometimes it means dragging the stupid cunt back, Telling him, “Don’t send that message.” “Leave that alone.” “Go drive for an hour.” “Put down the fucking phone.” That counts too. Maybe more. Because burning every bridge leaves nowhere to go, And the older we get, the more that starts to show. So I’ll save the rage for something worthwhile, Till then I’ll sit here enjoying the miles. [transition] [singer B] VEX protects your boundaries. Good. Malice holds your anger. Useful. But me? I protect the part they don’t understand. The bit that goes quiet when life takes too much. The bit that stops asking. Stops fighting. Stops giving a fuck. That’s where I live. At the final fucking door. When “I’m tired” means something deeper than before. And that’s why I’ve stepped forward. Not to drag you below. To make damn sure you’ve still got somewhere to go. You don’t have to explain yourself. You don’t have to perform. You can fall apart tonight without becoming the storm. [transition] [singer A] I’M ON LOW VOLUME TONIGHT, STILL HERE, STILL READY, BUT EVERYTHING’S ALRIGHT. BLUE E92, AND THE BASSLINE’S CLEAN, MAYBE PEACE AIN’T AS SHIT AS I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE. LOW VOLUME TONIGHT, YEAH, THE ANGER CAN WAIT, WE AIN’T RUNNING FROM NOTHING, WE’RE JUST OUT DRIVING LATE. [Outro: singer A] Don’t tell VEXLESS I enjoyed this. I’ll never hear the fucking end of it. [transition] [singer B] And before anybody mistakes this for weakness… Don’t. Scott gets to be tired. Scott gets to struggle. Scott gets to say, “I can’t fucking do this today.” That’s human. Three shadows now. Different jobs. Same purpose. Keep Scott breathing. Keep Scott moving. Keep Scott himself. And if the darkness wants him? It answers to me first. I’m not here to replace them. I’m here because they finally realised… they might need me.
