I feel that all of us are very privileged to be on Suno and have the opportunity to not only produce amazing songs but also to promote them. Suno is of course on the cutting edge of AI song creation and promotion so we can’t expect them to be perfect. This article is about promotion for those who are very frustrated that they have produced a portfolio of brilliant songs and no-one is listening to them. No matter what you do you only receive 50 plays (or less). I think that the Suno algorithm works more on a per creator basis than on an individual song basis. Early on a creator is placed in a particular category. For example many are placed in a 100 promotion category. This means that when published your song is sent to up to 100 people (resulting in about 50 plays). If you produce a string of brilliant songs you will get about 50 plays. If you produce a string of terrible songs you will still get about 50 plays. If you are fortunate enough to be placed in a higher category (e.g. 2000 promotions) then if you produce a string of brilliant songs you’ll receive about 1000 plays. If you produce a string of terrible songs you'll still receive about 1000 plays. I don’t believe that there is anything at all you can do to increase your category level. Producing brilliant songs won’t change this. I have though seen examples of categories being reduced over time for creators. Note that from time to time Suno massively promotes a random song from a random creator. All you can do is maximise the number of plays you receive within your category. If you spend about 1 hour creating a song I think you’ll need to spend about 10 hours promoting it. This is not as unreasonable as it may sound. In the old days bands needed to spend years going round performing gigs to promote their music. Promotors would spend weeks traveling the country going to radio stations with a record attempting to have the DJ play it.
