What are we doing?

[Intro – Spoken, low] Yeah… I been walkin’ through this place like it’s a graveyard made of pallets. Every aisle got another stack of “we’ll get to it.” But we never do, do we? Tell me… what are we doing? [Verse 1] Walk in, lights hum, fork truck buzzin’ like a migraine, Steel racks lookin’ like a crime scene, supply chain Bleedin’ out, parts piled to the high beams, Purchasin’ hittin’ “order” like they’re dealin’ out a pipe dream. We got freight droppin’ weekly, but the line’s slow, Can’t finish one order in two weeks, bro. Assembly stuck tryin’ to breathe through a tight choke, I’m in the back buried up beneath what you signed for. Look at these tags, date stamps like tombstones, Every skid mark’s another “you should’ve known.” You don’t walk these rows, you don’t hear these tones, All you see is spreadsheets, numbers on a phone. You call it “safety stock,” I call it suffocatin’, We chokin’ on inventory nobody’s activatin’. The floor lookin’ like a hoarder’s basement, And every click of “order” is another replacement For common sense you never bothered calculatin’. [Pre-Chorus] You don’t see the weight ‘cause you ain’t the one who lifts it, You just see a PO, hit send, then forget it. We’re the ones stuck tryin’ to make your math fit, Standin’ in the overflow askin’ one question— [Hook – Big, emotional] What are we doin’? (Yeah) Tell me, what are we doin’? We got parts stackin’ higher than the ceiling in this room and We ain’t movin’, nah, we just losin’ Space, time, mind, buried in confusion. What are we doin’? (Say it) What are we doin’? Every week the truck shows, every aisle fumin’. Can’t clear one order in two weeks, we’re ruined, But you keep clickin’ “buy” like that’s improvin’ it. [Verse 2] I got pallets in the lane where I’m s’posed to drive through, Still you tell me, “Be efficient,” what a nice view. You sit in an office, miles from this concrete, We wade through cardboard rivers just to find feet. You ever try to build kits with the wrong count? Ever dig through overflow, prayin’ that the part’s found? You ever watch a temp quit on the first round, ‘Cause they saw the wall of stock and said, “Nah, I’m out”? You think this is numbers, I think this is people, Burnout in their pupils, bones feelin’ feeble. We clock in to chaos, clock out to nothin’, Come back to the same mess, worse ‘cause you “adjusted.” They tell us “hit rate,” you tell us “great quarter,” But the only thing that’s up is the border Between what fits on racks and what spills over, You built a tidal wave and handed us a coaster. You got forecasts writ in fairy-tale font, We got real life, real weight, real haunt. You say “lead time,” I say “bleed time,” ‘Cause every wrong order cuts deep, we on decline. [Pre-Chorus] You don’t feel the strain when the aisles start closin’, You just see demand curves, colorful and frozen. We just see a future where the whole place’s broken, Standin’ in the wreckage, same question always spoken— [Hook] What are we doin’? (Yeah) Tell me, what are we doin’? We got parts stackin’ higher than the ceiling in this room and We ain’t movin’, nah, we just losin’ Space, time, mind, buried in confusion. What are we doin’? (Tell me) What are we doin’? Every week the truck shows, every aisle fumin’. Can’t clear one order in two weeks, we’re ruined, But you keep clickin’ “buy” like that’s improvin’ it. [Bridge – Confessional] Maybe I’m tired of bein’ the bandage on a broken arm, Tired of rearrangin’ damage you call “normal charm.” Tired of “just make do,” tired of “it’ll be fine,” Tired of drownin’ in the product of your careless mind. You ain’t never stayed late just to clear one lane, You ain’t never rearranged rows just to stay sane. You ain’t never took blame for a mess you ain’t make, While the real problem hide behind “market rates.” You ever think that maybe we don’t need another load? We need a brain at the wheel and a different mode. But you don’t change plans, you just change tabs, Print a new PO, rinse, repeat the same crash. [Verse 3 – Final build] I hear ‘em talk about “growth,” but I don’t see progress, I see product stressed out in a concrete coffin. I see walkways shrinkin’, I see tempers risin’, I see every bad call that you keep disguisin’. You say, “If we don’t buy now, we’ll be out later,” But if we keep buyin’ now, we’ll be drowned greater. Can’t build fast enough to even scratch one order, But you flood us every week like a storm with no border. This ain’t strategy, this is panic with a purchase key, This is fear of shortage stackin’ into certainty That we’ll never dig out, we just push it downstream, Hand it off to second shift and call it “team.” I’m sick of bein’ quiet while the load gets stupid, Sick of watchin’ logic disappear like it’s useless. If you won’t walk this floor, then you don’t get a say Bout what “enough” means, ‘cause we live that every day. [Hook – Final, big] What are we doin’? (Answer me) What are we doin’? We got parts stackin’ higher than the ce
