There was a girl whose heart contained, With only a glance she removed my chains. The many blessings I’d yearned my life, were softened by her touch and I felt no strife. From the depths of my spirit and soul She reaped pleasures of love from me, My heart poured over unrestrained. Each day love grew almost to pain. But I shall stand with patience for her. With her family and mine, one in the Lord’s hand. I’ll walk with her on dusty roads, I’ll walk with her on paths of gold. I’ll walk with her until I’m old. For my love is patient and it is kind, And I promise to always keep that in mind. Like angels in presence holding two hearts, Her smile, her warmth, let it never depart. For I’m honored by the love she returns to me, The peace we share will bless all who see. For she is a blessing from God above, The peace of the Lord has shown me this love.
