[Verse 1] The nightingales are laughing, The nightingales are crying, Their songs come beating Straight against the heart. And every note keeps saying, “Go on, don’t keep on waiting. Kiss her now, Before the moment falls apart.” [Chorus] Kiss her, kiss her, kiss her now, Your youth won’t come again. Don’t ask what waits beyond tonight, Don’t ask how it will end. Maybe forgetting, Maybe betrayal, Maybe a road that disappears. But spring is walking straight toward us, And spring is with us here. [Verse 2] Don’t look too far ahead now, Don’t count the cost of loving. Some things are lost The moment they are weighed. The night is warm around you, The world is still beginning, And every branch is trembling In the shade. [Chorus] Kiss her, kiss her, kiss her now, Your youth won’t come again. Don’t ask what waits beyond tonight, Don’t ask how it will end. Maybe forgetting, Maybe betrayal, Maybe a road that disappears. But spring is walking straight toward us, And spring is with us here. [Bridge] So let the future keep its secrets, Let tomorrow make its claim. Tonight the birds are singing Like they know your name. And somewhere in the dark The whole green earth is saying: Don’t wait. Don’t turn away. [Final Chorus] Kiss her, kiss her, kiss her now, While all the fields are young. While every tree is full of rain, While every song is sung. Maybe forgetting, Maybe betrayal — Still, there is nothing left to fear. For spring is walking straight toward us, And spring is with us here. [Outro] The nightingales are laughing... The nightingales are crying... Kiss her now. Spring is here.
