Drawn from Playlist “The Wreck,” this song echoes the tragic journey of the Astrosphere and the souls bound to her deck. Logbook of the Astrosphere Entry the Fifth This 3rd day of June, in the Year of Our Lord 1650 By the hand of Professor Lucian Voss This night hath unmade me. My Silent Bride is gone. I woke to the storm’s fury and found her not beside me. At first I thought she wandered, as is her wont, in those quiet hours where she keeps her strange vigils. Yet no call nor careful search did bring her forth. I have scoured the vessel entire - berth, hold, galley, and the lowest dark between-decks where the air itself doth choke a man. I have questioned the crew, each in turn. They mutter, avert their eyes, and speak in halves, as though bound by some shared deceit. At last I came upon the navigator. There was in his countenance a look I misliked from the first - too calm amidst the tumult, too ready with his answer. And when I pressed him, he spoke words that have set my very soul aflame. He claims - God strike him false - that my Bride did keep company with him through the night. That she did forsake my chamber for his. That she - No. I shall not set the rest to paper. It is a vile falsehood. It must be so. And yet- why then her absence? Why the silence where she once stood as constant as breath? Why do the crew shrink from my gaze, as though they know some truth I do not? The storm without is as nothing to that which now rages within me. My thoughts run wild and dark. I see in every shadow a betrayal, in every whisper a conspiracy. The sea beats upon the hull as though it answers my fury, or mocks it. If he hath lied, I shall have his tongue for it. If he hath spoken true - Then there is no measure of wrath sufficient to contain what I shall become. I go now to seek him again. Let all Heaven bear witness: I shall have the truth, though it tear this ship asunder. [INTRO] [pop, airy, soft female vocals, nostalgic; airy synths, reverb-heavy pads] [background: ambient pads, sweet synth; intimate, whispering delivery] I’m leaving, my sweet Lucian. We don’t love each other anymore, my man I tried to tell you. Don’t be angry, it’s true… But you refused to hear me too. Don’t be angry… the children need us, I’ll remain your friend, without a fuss, [VERSE] [spoken rap, male vocals, scattered, disoriented; light percussion, tense strings] [art: voice slightly breathy, scattered phrasing, light reverb to emphasize obsession; pauses for tension] From the logbook, my Silent Bride, I write again this morning. No sleep, cold sheets cling to your absent shadow. I searched every corner—books, chests, spilled vials— You were gone, vanished, no trace. In the corridor, I saw him-the Navigator-shirt unbuttoned, mocking. I asked about the obsidian figurine; he spat: “Your wife? Old hag, I fucked her all watch long, she loved it.” [CHORUS] [soft pop, airy female vocals, shimmering pads, reverb-heavy] I’ve gone, Lucian, with the children. I tried to tell you, but you wouldn’t listen. You scare us - your fear is growing. I need to protect us; your rage is showing. But your friends will help you forget me. I’ll remain the mother of your children… let it be. [VERSE] [frenzied rap; harsh percussion, male vocals, distorted bass, storm FX, aggressive delivery] In the navigation post, bent low, eyes locked on the storm, I begged: “Help me find my silent bride… hiding, unseen, transform.” Too handsome, too strong, he laughed, shrugged me away, “Old man, no time for your delusions, the sea rages, you sway.” Rage flares; I glimpse your shadow writhing beneath him. I seize the iron sextant - smash… again… again… grim. Blood spreads across the star charts, crimson and thin. [CHORUS] [soft pop, airy female vocals, fading; distant, like dissolving memory] I’ve gone, with the little ones near I cannot let you see the children… You roar. They need safety, I fear your rage I tried to tell you, my words fell from the page But your friends will guide you to forget me I’ll remain their mother… safe as can be. [BRIDGE] [screamed rap; male broken voice; abyssal chants, low-frequency drones] You cheated on me, bitch! They all fucked me over, switch! I’ll die… I’ll burn, I’ll drag them too! The crew, the ship, all crushed, all through! It’s your fault, can’t you see?! IT’S YOUR FAULT! SCREAM! GLEEEE! [FINAL CHORUS] [calm, deep underwater ambience] [female celestial lead vocals dominant; male spoken interjections, short, gasping, distant] It slips, Lucian… let the sea embrace you… (I did nothing, it’s her) The stars await… sacred oblivion, black liiight… (She left me… you know?) Sink, Lucian… drift with me in love… (I… I can’t! I’m just a jealous man....a jealous monster) [FADE OUTRO] [male voice; abyssal anthem, distorted choir, oceanic pads, low drones] [cosmic choir layering, sinister undertones, airy pads, abyssal drones] Sha’gar khur’thal, ulmash vekrith! Dral’gor pesthul, marak vrunesh! Nyss’K! Nyss’K! Nyss’K! [OUTRO]
