The Star Within

[Verse 1] Close your eyes Let the river of your breath Wash the corners Where the old hurt resides Every name you carried Set it softly down Let the trembling Melt into the ground [Chorus] There’s a star within Ever-lit garden of quiet Tiny glow Then it brightens Filling every space you are There’s a star within Gentle illumination Faithful silence Let it open Let it brighten Till your whole heart shines with that star [Verse 2] Fear walks circles In the attic of your mind All the rusted stories You replayed in time Turn toward the centre Where the noise grows thin Feel that tender light Warming you again [Chorus] There’s a star within Ever-lit garden of quiet Tiny glow Then it brightens Filling every space you are There’s a star within Gentle illumination Faithful silence Let it open Let it brighten Till your whole heart shines with that star [Bridge] When the grief feels heavier than bone Breathe down Breathe deep To the place you’re never alone In the hush behind each thought Find the chink of light you never lost [Chorus] There’s a star within Ever-lit garden of quiet Tiny glow Then it brightens Filling every space you are There’s a star within Gentle illumination Faithful silence Let it open Let it brighten Till your whole heart shines with that star.
