Take that step don't play it safe You can't always be sure and life won't wait, no life won't wait You always have a plan It's carried you this far You control for every outcome and never risk getting a scar But while there's safety in the corner life won't wait for you to be sure You can't keep hiding from the spotlight it's time to get out on the floor It may seem overwhelming but fires always start with just one spark The first step off the diving board is the hardest and then gravity does its part You've got to take that step You can't always look before you leap I know you want to play it safe but the best things in life won't wait So take a deep breath, roll the dice and make your move It's your time, go on and take that step You've read the books and asked tough questions and done the work and studied hard But when it comes to the presentation you're not sure how ready you are But now it's time to trust your knowledge Stride on stage and stand real tall Speak with confidence and take questions There's just no use trying to stall Get in a position to be lucky Trust your instincts will open doors Think on your feet and use your wit but you've got to lift your toes off the floor You've got to take that step You can't always look before you leap I know you want to play it safe but the best things in life won't wait So take a deep breath, roll the dice and make your move It's your time, go on and take that step You see her standing over there and your heart skips two beats You don't know what you're gonna say but it's time you move your feet You've got to take that step You can't always look before you leap I know you want to play it safe but the best things in life won't wait So take a deep breath, roll the dice and make your move It's your time, go on and take that step This chance won't last forever You'll find strength you didn't know You'll regret it if you don't take it now Take it now You've got to take that step You can't always look before you leap I know you want to play it safe but the best things in life won't wait So take a deep breath, roll the dice and make your move It's your time, go on and take that step
