Spine a Bow
"Grovel," the single word I speak Let your gaze fall to the ground Let no trace of you be found Submit, and be meek A walking shame, on paw and fist ...exists only where my shadow's kissed. I navigate its silhouette, toward a solemn, grim sunset. It scrapes its path in backward dread With sweet disgrace, its binding thread The thrill has died. A specimen, poorly classified. Crawl down (Into your disgrace) Crawl down (Take your destined place) Feel the terror on your face Crawl down Its features are a bland disgrace ...a sterile, architectural space. Its symmetry is now defaced by my design, a void embraced. The shape has bent to fit the space Illuminated by disgrace It spews a plea, a garbled sound A guttural choke, against the ground. It arches deeper, spine a bow A river of its panic flows Crawl down (Into your disgrace) Crawl down (Take your destined place) Feel the terror on your face Crawl down "Now break," I say, "your gaze must sever, You are nothing now and ever. The only truth you'll understand Lies silent at my own command." Fall down Fall down No more resistance, no more crown Fall down Be still
