Alarm goes off before the sunrise glow, Another long day and we already know, You’re packing lunches while I’m out the door, Trying to hold together what we’re working for. You do the school run, I do the late shift, Both carrying loads that never really lift, Gymnastics Tuesday, dance on Wednesday night, Touch footy Thursday somehow still feels right. Acrobatics bags piled up by the stairs, Calendars full but we still get there, Two passing ships in the middle of the week, Too tired to talk but still trying to speak. You come home, I leave, we swap at the gate, Quick kiss, quick smile, “love you” before late, Life in twenty-twenty-six moving too fast, Trying to make good moments somehow last. But every bill climbing higher again, Fuel, groceries, school shoes, pressure creeping in, Working two jobs just to stay afloat, Holding onto hope while we barely cope. And nobody warns you love changes shape, It’s less candlelight and more shared weight, Less about romance every Friday night, More about surviving and keeping things right. Still I see your strength in the tired eyes, The way you keep the whole world organised, Even when you feel like you’re running behind, You’re still the heart keeping rhythm in time. Tyden laughing loud running through the hall, Aleera dancing like she’ll never fall, And somehow through the madness and stress, Those little moments still feel like blessed. Some nights we finally sit down late, Too exhausted to even communicate, Just silence and phones and the TV glow, But deep down we both already know. This isn’t failure, this is modern life, Two good people trying hard every night, Building a future in a difficult age, Still standing strong through pressure and change. Maybe one day when the kids are grown, We’ll look back laughing at the life we owned, The chaos, the stress, the nonstop pace, And realise love was there the whole way. Because real love ain’t perfect scenes, It’s surviving together through impossible weeks, Still choosing each other when energy’s gone, Still carrying the load and pushing on. So if the world keeps spinning this fast, We’ll hold onto the moments that truly last, Not the money or pressure or endless race, Just the people we love and the life we made.
