You held us before we had names Counted our fingers, memorized our faces Sleepless nights became your prayer Love so fierce it filled the empty spaces First words stumbled off our tongues You caught every one like fallen treasure Scraped knees and monster dreams You made safe a thing we couldn't measure Mom, you watched us grow From tiny hands to hearts that learned to go Every version of who we became Started with you whispering our name Teenage years we pushed away Slammed our doors but you never left Patient through the storms we made Loving us even at our worst Then one day we packed our bags Chased our lives beyond your door You smiled through the tears that fell Knowing this was what you raised us for Mom, you watched us grow From stubborn kids to souls who finally know Every lesson finally makes sense Your love was never past tense Now your love is silver-grey And we bring our babies home to you Watch you hold them just the same The way you held us when the world was new All those years of giving everything Now we see it crystal clear The woman who became our world Is still the voice we need to hear Mom, you watched us grow And now we hope we've let you know Every breath we take, you're there Woven in like light through air Thank you for the life you gave For staying when we made it hard For teaching us what love looks like You're written on our hearts Mom Mom Forever, Mom
