Raise Earth's Banner High!

Its a core memory of mine, watching Space Battleship Yamato/Star-Blazers at 7am on Sat mornings with my Dad. "We are off to outer space./We’re leaving Mother Earth/ To save the human race!!!" This is my reverent nod to the musical genre/styles used and to the creators of the series and all its spin offs. And of course, MY Space Battleship is an Iowa/Texas Class! 💀💀💀 ================================== [Intro: bombastic epic Fanfare] [Intro – choir + brass] (Oh oh oh… whoa oh…) [Verse 1] Steel in the night, wake the engines, ride the sky, Enemy on the scope but we don't run or hide Home is a tiny spec of white and blue, We carry the vow - see it through. [Pre-Chorus] Mankind shall not fail and will prevail! Colony Signals fade but we answer the call. Neither battle nor death will still our hearts, We’ll rise above it all. [Chorus] Raise earth's banner to the stars Find your courage, press on far! Through the thunder, through the long unknown, We are sailing, never alone. Hear the engines sing our song Beat the drums and gunfire to drive us on. For the enemy who wait beyond the sun, We coming for you, We keep marching towards the dawn. [Instrumental Fanfare] [Verse 2 ] Scars on the hull, but her spirit never breaks, Charting a path where endless night becomes new day. We keep the memory of home in the silence of the deep, Swear to Slay the foe and Guard the homes mankind keeps. [Pre-Chorus] Every light-year leaves the fallen in the dark, Colony Signals fade but we answer the call. If the foe draws a line to stop our hearts, We’ll rise above it all. [Chorus] Raise the banner to the dawn… [choir answers (“oh - oh - oh -oh”)] Through the thunder, through the long unknown, We are sailing, never alone… [Grand finale] Raise earth's banner to the stars Find your courage, press on far! Through the thunder, through the long unknown, We are sailing, never alone. Hear the engines sing our song— Beat the drums and gunfire to drive us on. For the enemy who wait beyond the sun, We coming for you, We keep marching towards the dawn. (Whoa - oh -oh… marching on!) [Outro]
