Dedicated to my Dear Friend with Tears on Her Wings [Intro} [Verse 1] We were wings without direction Falling stars in daylight skies We held prayers like fading embers Never knowing we’d collide You were light inside the shadow I was song without a sound Two hearts drifting from the heavens Till each other we had found [Chorus 1, light harmonies] Wayward angels, finding home In the grace we thought was gone Through the fire, through the storm We’ve been lost, but not alone Wayward angels, hand in hand Learning how to stand again Lock and key, we are the plan Wayward angels, home again [Verse 2] I had cracks across my halo You had tears upon your wings But our brokenness was mercy In the gift our meeting brings Every doubt became a candle Every tear a holy sign What we thought was just an ending Was a doorway into light [Chorus 2, Stronger Harmonies than First Chorus] Wayward angels, we can fly Past the darkness, past the sky What was broken, now is whole You’re the fire in my soul Wayward angels, hand in hand Living proof of heaven’s plan Lost no more, we understand Wayward angels, home again [Bridge] (optional — can be spoken or sung softly) Maybe heaven isn’t distant Maybe grace was in our hands In the moment we surrendered We were back on sacred lands [Chorus 3 – final] [Strong and emotional] Wayward angels, rising strong Grace was with us all along Every scar becomes a flame We were lost, but found again Wayward angels, hand in hand Turning broken into plan Lock and key, our hearts remain Wayward angels, home again [Outro] Wayward angels, Home again Ohh Oh We're Home Again
