Hebrews 6

V6

Now that we understand the basic teachings about Yahushua the Messiah, it is time for us to grow beyond the beginning. We should not have to start over every time, learning the same foundations again and again. We already know the importance of turning away from actions that lead to death and placing our faith in Elohim. We have learned about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and the judgment that lasts forever. These are the foundations of our understanding. Now we must move forward toward spiritual maturity, if Elohim permits us to do so. But there is also a serious warning we need to understand. Some people have already received the light of truth. They have experienced the heavenly gift, shared in the Ruach Hakodesh, and discovered the goodness of the word of Elohim. They have even experienced something of the power of the world that is coming. But if people who have experienced all these things completely turn away, it is impossible to bring them back to repentance. By rejecting the Son of Elohim after knowing the truth, they are treating him as though they would crucify him all over again, exposing him to public shame. Think about what happens when rain falls upon the ground. The land drinks in that water, and when it produces useful plants for the people who cultivate it, that land receives a blessing from Elohim. But imagine that same land producing nothing but thorns and weeds. It becomes worthless to those who care for it. It is close to being cursed, and its end is to be burned. Now, my beloved brothers and sisters, even though we are speaking with such a serious warning, we believe better things about you. We believe your lives will show the things that belong to salvation. Elohim is not unjust. He has not forgotten the work you have done or the love you have shown for his name. He remembers how you have cared for his people, and how you continue caring for them today. And we want every one of you to keep showing that same dedication. Hold firmly to your hope, with complete confidence, all the way to the end. Do not become lazy or careless in your faith. Instead, follow the example of those who inherited the promises of Elohim through faith and patience. Remember Abraham. When Elohim made his promise to Abraham, there was nobody greater than himself by whom he could make an oath. So Elohim made the promise by his own name. He declared that he would surely bless Abraham and greatly multiply his descendants. Abraham waited with patience, and in time he received what Elohim had promised. Among people, an oath is usually made by appealing to someone greater than themselves. That oath serves as confirmation and settles disagreements because it gives assurance that the promise will be honored. Elohim wanted the people who would inherit his promise to understand something even greater. His purpose would never change. So he confirmed his promise with an oath. He gave us two unchangeable assurances, his promise and his oath, and it is impossible for Elohim to lie. Because of this, those of us who have run to him for refuge can take great courage. We can hold firmly to the hope he has placed before us. And that hope is like an anchor for our souls. It holds us securely, giving us something steady and dependable when everything around us feels uncertain. But this anchor reaches much farther than anything in this world. Our hope reaches into the heavenly sanctuary, beyond the sacred veil. That is where Yahushua has already entered on our behalf. He has gone ahead of us, opening the way as our forerunner. And he remains our High Priest forever, following the order of Melchizedek.
