Broken stone upon the mountain. Golden ashes in the dust. Israel waits beneath the silence, Knowing what their hands have done. Moses turns again toward Sinai, Climbs alone into the cloud. No celebration. No defiance. Not a voice Among the crowd. Lord, if I have found Your favor, Do not leave us here alone. Walk among this stubborn people. Take us still to be Your own. Then the presence filled the mountain, And the name of God was heard. Merciful! Gracious! Slow to anger! Faithful To Your word! WORDS OF THE COVENANT! Carved again in stone! What was broken Shall be written! What was lost Shall be restored! WORDS OF THE COVENANT! Carry them below! Let the children Of the promise KNOW! Forty days. No bread. No water. Only fire, Cloud And stone. Then Moses came down from the mountain, But he did not know... His face was shining. The people drew away! The glory of the mountain Still burned upon his face! From slavery! Through the waters! Through the wilderness they came! Not by Pharaoh! Not by idols! They would bear Another name! Remember the words. Remember the mountain. Remember the fire. Remember the covenant. Written in stone...
