Banyan Thorns - Canopy Ritual (feat. Ashbloom Pact)
Beneath the canopy, Amongst the fungus, And falling leaves, Insects scurry, Spirits watch, The ritual begins… I grind the bone to powder, Mix it with the loam of sorrow, Ash of oak, blood of thorn, Circle cast in silence sworn. Spirits of stone, Roots of the deep, Awaken, awaken, From your endless sleep. Smoke coils in serpent tongues, Herbs crackle, bitter, sweet, The drumbeat pounds like heart of earth, I call the names that shadows keep. Crow feather, fox tooth, Moss dripping wet with moon, Water stirred with antler’s tip, Fire fed with marrow’s boon. Spirits of stone, Roots of the deep, Awaken, awaken, From your endless sleep. The wind bends low to listen, The branches lean like priests, My breath is bound in offering, My body bent to beasts. Bone and ash, Blood and leaf, Take this flesh, Take this grief, Bury me beneath the canopy Beneath the canopy, Amongst the fungus, And falling leaves, I vanish into silence, And the ritual is done.
