MERCY 010 – The Long Call Cathedral | The Mercy

Thrash Metal, Southern Rock, High Energy, Heavy

(Verse 2)
They shaped the scattered voices into schedules for the call,
With births and deaths and warnings passed from tower unto hall.
Each message bore its witness and the distance it had crossed,
So rumour wore a lesser weight than names already lost.

(Chorus)
The Long Call raised a cathedral from the static over all,
With fragile human voices climbing relay after call.
It carried proof of living where the former world was gone,
And unanswered names kept ringing when the signal wandered on.

(Verse 3)
A harbour spoke of fever and a bridge no longer sound,
A prairie station answered with the harvest safely bound.
A mother sent a newborn name through three uncertain skies,
While distant hands repeated it where ruined cities rise.

(Verse 4)
No central voice commanded what the listening Houses knew,
For every relay marked the source and named the warning true.
The patient operators kept the windows brief and clear,
And taught the world that distant life was possible to hear.

(Bridge)
They built no vaulted sanctuary, no altar carved in stone,
Yet every scheduled silence made the scattered world less lone.
The static held a thousand tongues that faded into rain,
And every voice unanswered left another human stain.

(Outro)
So still the Long Call murmurs through the weather and the wire,
A fragile arch of witness held by patience and desire.
It cannot raise the missing or return the dead to home,
But every name repeated proves that no one dies alone.

(Verse 1) They woke abandoned stations where the dust had sealed the air, And truck sets found the living through a discipline of prayer. The marine bands crossed the darkness with a broken pulse of light, While operators held their breath and listened through the night.
