(Intro) (The classic, bouncing 8-bit theme starts: Da-da-da-DUM, da-da-da-da... A high-pitched, chirpy synth melody that sounds like a heroic march, layered over a walking bassline.) Verse 1 The hat is tilted and the chin is strong But everything he touches goes incredibly wrong! Deep in the Amazon, the boulders roll A thousand-ton sphere is out for control He’s dodging the spikes and he’s dodging the darts He’s the master of the jump and the frantic starts One step forward and the floor disappears He’s been falling down pits for a hundred years! Pre-Chorus Got a stick of dynamite and a silver gun The life of an explorer is never quite done Check every corner, check every block Better stay steady when the temples rock! Chorus (To the main melody) Rick Dangerous! He’s the big-headed guy Rick Dangerous! He’s not ready to hide From the South American caves to the castle walls He’s the only one who recall when the danger calls One life left and a long way to go He’s the bravest little hero in the 8-bit show! Verse 2 Now he’s in Egypt where the mummies wait Trying to avoid an early burial fate He crouches in the shadows, he crawls on the ground Looking for the treasure that’s never been found Then it's off to London where the missiles fly In a secret Nazi base under a pixel sky He’s a cartoon legend in a 16-color world With a stick of TNT and a banner unfurled! Bridge (The music shifts to a frantic "Death" jingle, then restarts the loop faster.) Whoosh! Goes the arrow! Bang! Goes the trap! He’s lost in the middle of a booby-trapped map! But he climbs up the ladder and he jumps the gap! (A short, chirpy synth solo that mimics Rick’s "WA-HAA!" scream.) Chorus (To the main melody) Rick Dangerous! He’s the big-headed guy Rick Dangerous! He’s not ready to hide From the South American caves to the castle walls He’s the only one who recall when the danger calls One life left and a long way to go He’s the bravest little hero in the 8-bit show! Outro Rick Dangerous... (Watch out for the boulder!) Rick Dangerous... (Watch out for the spikes!) Game Over? Not yet... (The song ends with the "Level Clear" jingle and a final celebratory 8-bit fanfare.)
