[PROLOGUE] ROXI: (Soft smoky Nordic alto; a small, knowing smile in the voice.) They’re waiting for me to get loud. To pick up a stone and throw it back. But I think... there's more power in just keeping the tea warm. [INTRO] [ROXI]: (Warm acoustic guitar; light fingerpicked pattern.) [JILL]: (Round electric bass; soft melodic steps.) [MILFRED]: (Brushes; easy 4/4 with a tiny swing.) [SEPHYR-GLEN]: (Rhodes; warm open chords.) [LIZ]: (Bass clarinet; one low, friendly reply.) [VERSE 1] ROXI: (Clear, intimate melody.) I didn't make the morning, I didn't teach the rain. I didn't draw the window or give the heart its name. I only woke inside it, already called "me," with life doing little miracles without reporting back to me. [CHORUS] ROXI: (Gentle but firm refrain.) Give me a blues that isn't blue, a little crooked, kind and true. No cure, no shame, no grand excuse, just room enough to be the blues. God can be Spirit. I can be me. And neither has to disappear for both of us to be. [KIND RAP] [MILFRED]: (Brushes tighten into a soft pocket.) [JILL]: (Bass answers the ends of Roxi's lines.) [SEPHYR-GLEN]: (Rhodes keeps a simple two-chord sway.) ROXI: (Warm rhythmic speech; playful, but with an edge.) Hey you out there on the fence, with the heavy hand, Who think peace is sinking sand? You’ve got your bricks polished, ready for the throw, Waiting for me to stumble, waiting for a show. I didn't build my ego, I just found it saying "hi." It points at this and says "not me," then points at You and asks "why?" But I don't need your fortress, and I don't need your war, I’m not looking for a conquest or a bloody shore. You want me to be angry? To brandish a sign? To draw a hard border and call it "divine"? Well, the Wholeness is wide enough to catch your stone, And I'd rather sit here, in this house of my own. A difference doesn't have to be a wall inside the mind. You don't have to swallow me. I don't have to own Your name. We can leave a little daylight between the candle and the flame. If silence hears me talking, it doesn't lose its grace. It simply lets a sentence bloom... and gives that sentence space. [VERSE 2] [LIZ]: (Bass clarinet becomes a soft counter-melody.) [ROXI]: (Lightly amused, melodic.) They said, "Where is your falling?" I looked beneath my chair. Creation had no trapdoor and nothing landed there. They said, "Carry all your sorrow." I said, "Could we carry tea?" A universe is quite enough without blaming it on me. [CHORUS] ROXI: (Gentle harmony opens wider.) Give me a blues that isn't blue, old enough to feel brand new. No pity bow, no healing pose, just one warm note that comes and goes. God can be Spirit. I can be me. The Whole can keep on making room for what it lets us see. [BRIDGE] [SEPHYR-GLEN]: (Rhodes gives way to a soft Hammond glow.) [JILL]: (Bass rises slowly beneath Roxi.) ROXI: (Nearly whispered melody; direct but kind.) Lucifer can ask a question. Satan can stand nearby. Nobody needs the rubbish bin to prove the earth and sky. Nothing falls outside Creation. Nothing has to play the fool. Maybe kindness is just letting difference keep its little stool. [FINAL CHORUS] ROXI: (Open, tender alto; smiling through the last lines.) Give me a blues that isn't blue, No sad disguise, no cure to sell, just life being life, and doing it well. God can be Spirit. I can be me. The Whole can keep on making room for what it lets us see. [OUTRO] [ROXI]: (Acoustic guitar returns to the opening figure.) [JILL]: (One warm low note.) [LIZ]: (Bass clarinet answers softly.) ROXI: (Spoken, affectionate; a final smirk in her voice.) Go ahead and throw your stone. I’m just going to keep listening to the blue. [END]
