Succumb To The Hunger

[Intro, Spoken Word] The world can be a cruel place. Unrelenting. Unforgiving. Unkind. It’ll eat you up if you’re not careful. As for me? … I’m a bit famished myself. Hahaha! [Verse] Surviving in the silence hidden from the moonlit shimmer Trying not to cave in but that fate is looking dimmer Hunger overwhelming, need some sanguine satisfaction Need to curb the appetite - can’t suffer from inaction Come across a traveller still searching for their way Seems they’ve gotten rather lost now that it’s no longer the day They’re worried that their friends might think that they are now deceased While I’m thankful for the frontier as it’s brought to me a feast [Pre-Chorus] Don’t worry, little lamb You won’t suffer long You’ll just grow weak As I grow strong [Chorus] This is the way of the wilderness and the law of the land Those who consume other creatures take all that they demand If you’re not prepared for everything, then you’ll become the prey So succumb to the hunger of the wild for this is the way [Verse] Dawn retakes its presence as the twilight must retreat I’m satisfied for now, but once again I’ll need to eat Keep myself within the shadows, though I do not fear the sun The hunt for my survival starts when moonlight has begun So many weary wanders make camp to rest their head And keep alight their campfires to stave off all their dread Some will even ask of me if I could stay the night And I’m eager to go join them because I could use a bite [Pre-Chorus] Don’t worry, little lamb You won’t suffer long You’ll just grow weak As I grow strong [Chorus] This is the way of the wilderness and the law of the land Those who consume other creatures take all that they demand If you’re not prepared for everything, then you’ll become the prey So succumb to the hunger of the wild for this is the way [Bridge] The land untamed, the wild west The wanderlust within your chest It calls to you, oh pioneer To venture out to this frontier Claim these lands and tame that beast Go build your homes, become my feast Because you’ll learn when dark does fall I’ll have my fill and consume you all [Hook] Don’t worry, little lamb You won’t suffer long You’ll just grow weak As I grow strong [Chorus] This is the way of the wilderness and the law of the land Those who consume other creatures take all that they demand If you’re not prepared for everything, then you’ll become the prey So succumb to the hunger of the wild for this is the way [Outro, Spoken Word] Hush now, traveller. You’ve done your best. Yet you learned too late… … you’re still merely prey. Hahaha! [END]
